About Chan

Chandlee Offerman, a BIPOC writer, crafts historical fiction, inviting and challenging readers to re-examine the past. Always fascinated with cultures other than her own and the ways in which people communicate, she has traveled to more than ninety countries. But it was research into her own Virginia roots that unearthed a trove of “what ifs” and fascinating seeds for stories. One of them has germinated into her first novel, Destiny Reclaimed, for which she is seeking representation.
Accompanied by her apricot Standard Poodle, Rhett, who also responds to the names Krullenkopje and Bubba, Chandlee lives in Charlottesville, VA. Her short story, “Unwilling Immigrant,” won first place for that category in the Virginia Writers Club’s (VWC) 2019 Golden Nibs competition. In addition to the VWC, she is a member of the James River Writers and the Historical Novel Society of North America.
When not researching, writing, or enjoying local trails with Rhett, she teaches classes in leadership skills and multicultural communication for the Graduate School USA.
